A youth is behind bars following an armed robbery on a bus in Cole Harbour earlier this week.
The incident happened around 8 a.m. on February 10, 2026. Police were called after a youth armed with what looked like a handgun targeted another youth while the bus was traveling near Poplar Drive and Portland Street.
Investigators say a youth was on the bus when another youth pushed them into a seat, pointed a handgun at their chest, and demanded their sweater and ski mask. The youth handed the items over and managed to get off the bus at the next stop without being physically hurt.
Officers caught up with the youth they were looking for a short time later near North Preston Road and Beals Crescent. With the help of a police dog, they found the stolen sweater and an imitation gun hidden near a house.
The youth faces several charges, including robbery, assault, and pointing a weapon. They also face charges for breaking previous court orders. The youth appeared in court on the day of the arrest and remains in jail until their next hearing.
