A 33-year-old Yellowknife man accused of selling hot cigarettes and vapes is appearing in court today.
The RCMP’s Federal Arctic Unit executed several search warrants on Dec. 17, 2025, targeting the B7 Convenience Store and Aurora Delivery and Moving Services. During the raids, officers seized more than $128,000 in currency and illegal goods, including:
- 21,595 cigarettes
- 598 Zynn nicotine pouches
- 385 vapes and 438 empty vape boxes
- 24 packs of illicit shisha tobacco
- $57,543 in cash
Mamush Mekonin Feyisa, 33, was arrested and faces multiple charges under the Criminal Code and the Excise Act. These include possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, the sale of illegal tobacco, and the unlawful possession or sale of vaping products.
Feyisa is scheduled to appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court today, Feb. 3, 2026.
