Toronto police are looking for a woman who allegedly attacked a person at a bus stop after hearing them speak a language other than English.
The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. on July 19, 2025, near Thorncliffe Park Drive and Overlea Boulevard. Police say a woman overheard the victim talking to someone else and began shouting anti-Egyptian and anti-immigration slurs. She then walked up to the victim and allegedly poured water over their head.
The woman left the scene and was last seen walking east on Overlea Boulevard.
Police describe the woman as 30 to 40 years old, between 5’6″ and 5’8″ tall with a heavy build. She wore a white shirt, black tights, black and white Converse shoes, and a black and white head covering. She was carrying a green purse.
The Hate Crime Unit is leading the investigation. They are asking anyone who recognizes the woman from released images to call Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers.
