Four youths have been arrested and charged as part of an ongoing investigation into sexual assault and hazing incidents involving a hockey team in the Truro area.

The Colchester County District RCMP began their investigation on January 30, after a youth reported being assaulted during a private team gathering in October 2025. The RCMP Community Action Team immediately launched an inquiry that revealed further incidents involving multiple locations, victims, and witnesses.

On February 3, investigators arrested three suspects. The first youth faces charges of sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, and assault with a weapon. The second youth is charged with sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault, and assault by choking. A third youth faces a single count of sexual assault with a weapon. Following further investigation, a fourth youth was arrested on February 5 and charged with sexual assault and assault by choking.

S/Sgt. Marc Rose, District Commander of the Colchester County District RCMP, stated that the police have utilized a trauma-informed approach since the beginning of the case, employing investigators specifically trained in interviewing children and youth.

“Our priority was the well-being of the youths involved,” said S/Sgt. Rose. “We recognize how painful and distressing this is for the youths who’ve been harmed, their families, and the wider community.”

Police believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward, including individuals who may reside outside of Colchester County. The RCMP is encouraging anyone with information or anyone who has been harmed to contact them, reassuring potential victims that they will be heard and supported at their own pace.

The investigation into the team’s activities remains active.
